This is a backdated post. The incident happened on 2nd
October 2011at Popular book store. We were busy searching crepe paper for Chloe’s
lion costume on her concert’s day. As the color that I needed was on the high
shelve, I asked hubby to assist me. Within a second, we realized Cavin which
was standing next to me gone missing.
“Cavin, Cavin!” I started to call him. No answer at all, search
around the cabinets and shelves also unable to locate him. Gosh, I started to
panic. We quickly separate and search for him in different areas. Chloe is following
me, I hold her tie as I don’t wants her to get missing like her brother.
I began to search from the back of the book store and
stopped at the center part, I fail to find him. I started to think, he won’t be
walking far away alone. If really someone would grab him out, he would
definitely go out from the entrance. I quickly hold Chloe and rushed to the
entrance. I met the guard at the entrance and asked him whether he saw a small
boy running out alone. He replied no. So I told him that my boy gone missing.
He is wearing a yellow top and about this height.
Then I go back to look for hubby, hopefully he already found
him. While walking back, I saw hubby still searching around. Looking at him, he
shakes his head, still unable to locate Cavin. My heart totally sank, my brain is
empty. Before I can turn on back my mind, suddenly I realize my boy standing in
front of me. His hand was holding some pens and busy exploring in front of the rack.
Hubby walked to him and gave him a big reprimand. Then carried him up and don’t
allow him to go down again.
Phew, it’s a very scary incident. The worst is my boy
totally didn’t realize that he gone missing, thus no replied or crying or frightening
for him too. Hubby suggests getting him a safety harness. You may say I’m
walking a puppy, but I really do not want this incident happen again, never
ever again.
I am always very scared of this kind of incidents,, I just cannot take the pain of seeing my child lost in space,,,,,,hahahhahaha
ReplyDeleteYou know for parents,I think it will be so much of torment to not even know where your child is,alive or dead,, if died,at least can see the body,,missing,,,,pain pain
Phew...luckily u found him save and sound. Whenever I do not have free hands to hold my kids, i will get them to hold on to my blouse or tuck their hands into my pockets. At least I could 'feel' they are next to me.
ReplyDeleteEugene - haha how nice if we can install detecting chip in their body, so we can locate where they are with our GPS system. LOL joking
ReplyDeletemNhL - Too bad my boy won't diam2 hold my blouse even my hand. He will let go and walk all by himself. I need to remind him hold mommy hand.
I used safety harness too with ziyi last time.. Better be safe than sorry... But she went missing too one time, she was around 3y+.... So totally understand how you felt....
ReplyDeleteI also want the detection chip installed in their body.... Hehe
Linda - Ya better be safe than sorry. Learn a huge lesson here. haha let invent the detection chip ya, then I will be rich like Bill Gate LOL joking
ReplyDeleteyes, dun bother what others say whether u r walking a puppy or wat. as long as u still have a 'puppy' to walk! correct? our kids are what most important. do what u think is best to keep them secured
ReplyDeleteThe same thing happened to my C too and that 5 mins of searching for her felt like 5 hours! Just 5 seconds of not looking at them, anything can happen so we really cannot let go their hand when we are outside.
ReplyDeleteOh dear..I can imagine how your heart stop a beat while frantically looking for Cavin. It happened to me once...haiyo...Gwen wandered away while i was paying at the cashier counter when she was 3 plus. Like what you said, she didn't go far..few metres away from me and she was checking out hair accessories. Scared the hell out of me.
ReplyDeleteIt's not a bad thing to get a safety harness for Cavin.
Oh gosh... tht's a horrible terribly experience, short yet tormenting... phew, luckily he found u guys!*sweat
